Morning departure from Cairo toward Minya. Explore the famous rock-cut tombs of Beni Hassan, carved into the cliffs overlooking the Nile Valley, and discover their lively scenes of agriculture, hunting and daily life. After lunch, continue to Minya, check in at your hotel, then enjoy free time with a walk along the Nile and dinner. Overnight in Minya.
After breakfast, travel to Tell el-Amarna, the remarkable lost city of Akhenaten. Explore the remains of the ancient capital, the Northern Tombs and, where accessible, the Royal Tomb. Continue to Tuna el-Gebel, discovering the Tomb of Petosiris, the animal necropolis and underground galleries. Return to Minya for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast and check-out, travel to Ashmunein, ancient Hermopolis Magna, a major religious centre associated with the god Thoth. Explore the ancient ruins and the local connection with the Nile. Enjoy lunch before the return journey, arriving in Cairo in the evening for drop-off at your hotel.
