Verified An opportunity one should not miss....
Essam (Sam) is an academic Egyptologist and possesses excellent detailed knowledge of all dynasties and their characters. He reads cartouches like we read the newspaper. He organized all kinds of sightseeing for us, whether the pyramids, everything else there is to see in Cairo, or the organization and accompaniment of a Nile cruise with explanations of all the sights upstream & downstream. He knows how to adapt programs to needs and budgets, which is why he has already provided good service to some of our friends. For me personally, Essam has become a personal friend over the many years I have been dealing with Egypt, characterized by his helpfulness, reliability, and wise prudence.

Another great experience was had with Sam on a city tour. We saw the city, went to an excellent dervish display and ended up the evening with an excellent meal at a restaurant in Khan Al Khalili. Sam did all the arrangements for us so did not have to worry about anything. I would recommend Sam as a guide for any activity you wish to undertake in Cairo or wider Egypt.

We had a great experience on the GEM tour. The artifacts and the displays were terrific but the assistance of a top class guide was vital. We used Sam as our guide and he had so much knowledge to impart to us. He is an expert on Egyptology (as is Mo) and it enhanced the experience to benefit from his expertise. I would recommend Sam or Mo for a GEM tour, a trip to the Pyramids or any tour in Egypt. I have always recommended Sam to friends and colleagues who may be visiting Egypt and the feedback is always positive!

Our tour of Old Cairo and Islamic Cairo was a fantastic experience. Essam's extensive knowledge and his passion for Egyptian history really brought everything we saw to life. He also made us feel completely safe and took care of all the logistics for us. He picked us up, drove us around, helped navigate tickets and entrances, and made sure everything went smoothly. It was incredibly convenient and meant we could simply enjoy exploring without worrying about the practical details. Essam is extremely knowledgeable, passionate, friendly, and genuinely loves sharing Egypt’s history. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to explore Old Cairo and Islamic Cairo for an unforgettable experience!

Verified Unforgettable Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum with a true expert
I visited the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum in April 2026 with my mom and my sister, and Essam made it truly unforgettable. As an Egyptologist, he has an incredible depth of knowledge, and you can feel his passion for Egyptian history. The way he brought the stories, people, and ancient world to life made everything so much more meaningful and fascinating. I had visited the Pyramids before without a guide, and the experience was completely different this time. Having Essam explain the history, significance, and details behind what we were seeing gave me a whole new appreciation for these incredible places. In addition, as an experienced local guide, he made us feel super safe and took care of all the logistics for us: picking us up, driving us around, navigating the ticket buying and entry process, and making sure everything ran smoothly. This was incredibly useful and meant we could simply relax and enjoy the experience without having to worry about the practical details. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Egypt. It will make for a dream experience!

Verified An unforgettable experience with an amazing guide! Rest easy knowing you have the best guide in Cairo!
Mo is a professional and informative guide! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were 2 ladies travelling alone, and we consider ourselves to be experienced travellers. But we had also heard that it can be difficult in Cairo to explore places comfortably on our own. So, to ensure we had a positive experience, we decided to book a guide for the first day of the trip. We had an amazing time. From the moment we were picked up in the car at our hotel, to our drop off. It was fun, interesting and Mo took some great photos! I show them to everyone that ask us about our trip. He knew the places, the angles, everything! You can completely trust yourself in his hands. After such a great day, we booked another 2 days with him. He showed us places we wouldn't have gone by ourselves. And he even took us to a restaurant to try koshari, the traditional Egyptian dish! Excellent experience all around.

Verified Simply the best guide in Cairo! And bonus photographer!
I don't know if I can accurately put into words what an amazing experience we had with Sam Mo. As first time visitors to Egypt, and two women, we were a bit nervous about choosing a tour provider. Initially, we booked one day trip with Sam Mo, and after that day, we immediately booked another trip with him. Sam Mo is professional, welcoming and informative. He is also an amazing photographer and, unbeknownst to us, took the best shots I've had during a trip. I definitely couldn't take such great photos on my own. We felt safe and secure the whole time with Sam Mo, and I recommend him to all my friends visiting Cairo. He is also an expert in the history of Egypt but doesn't overwhelm you with too many facts. He was simply the best guide I've had.
