Immerse yourself in Egypt’s living heritage with a spectacular evening at the Tanoura Show. Wekalet El Ghouri is a stunning arts centre in the El Azhar area of central Cairo, established in 1504 AD during the Mameluke era and restored as a cultural venue under the Ministry of Culture. Home to Egypt’s only troupe of Sufi dancers, this hypnotic performance is similar to the whirling dervishes, but with a distinctly Egyptian character — spinning dancers in vibrant, billowing skirts, accompanied by live musicians, tambourines, flutes and solo singers. An authentic and atmospheric night of music and dance, and the perfect way to round off a day exploring Islamic Cairo. The show typically runs in the evening, so we pick you up from your hotel and return you safely afterwards.
